Dzaleka Classroom Project: Update #2
Once again, we bring you an update from Dzaleka Refugee Camp, where EGG has been funding the completion of two classrooms. We are excited to share with you the photos taken recently by Ann Page, of Build A School (our partner organisation working in Malawi). The photos show the progress made in the past month to the construction of the two classrooms, including the finishing of the walls, roofing, and doors.
We are impressed with the work done by the builder and carpenter so far. Both of the workers live in the refugee camp, and come from refugee backgrounds, so we are grateful that we have been able to provide an opportunity for their employment as they complete this project for us. We are excited to share that the carpenter is now working on the desks and shelves, in order to furnish the classrooms. These items have also been donated by EGG, thanks to our generous sponsors.
We look forward to seeing the completion of this project, and the impact it will have on the lives of the children who live at the refugee camp. For many of them, these classrooms will provide the first education they will receive since they arrived at the camp. We are grateful that they will be educated and empowered, despite the many hardships faced in a refugee camp.
Thanks again to our wonderful sponsors, and all who have made this project possible. Stay tuned for more updates coming soon!
